JindoJinju : Soul Meme
Jinju is a Jindo dog, a Natural Monument born in Jindo. For reasons unknown, Jinju was sold to a dog trader. She waited for her turn, watching her friends face their tragic ends. Learning of her plight, a compassionate whale came to Jinju's rescue. The whale wrapped her in a golden seashell. When Jinju regained consciousness, she found herself outside the cage. The shell had opened, and a pearl necklace adorned her neck. Reborn anew, Jinju was overjoyed to have gained her freedom. Now, Jinju's true story begins.
Jinju is a real-life Jindo dog, a designated Natural Monument, rescued from Jindo County. Despite her status, she was sold to a dog trader and was awaiting slaughter during Boknal before being rescued. She endured long periods confined in a cage next to a slaughter site, witnessing the deaths of her companions. At the time of her rescue, she was unable to move and, to this day, remains timid, often startled by small noises and showing mild facial tics, likely due to her trauma. Her story garnered nationwide attention, with photos and videos shared widely in the news, even sparking discussions in the National Assembly. Jinju remains a well-known figure, frequently appearing in the media to raise awareness about the treatment of Jindo dogs.
Jinju eventually found comfort in a foster home before being adopted into a loving family. Her adopter reportedly prayed 1,000 times at a temple and made offerings to a monk on Jinju’s behalf. The adopter had a dream in which a monk told them to adopt Jinju, and despite a complicated process, she finally found her forever family. Jinju underwent nearly a year of treatment for heartworm disease and has since fully recovered, now enjoying a happy life.
While Dogecoin has made the Shiba Inu famous, often leading to quick rehoming of abandoned dogs, Jindo dogs face a different reality. Despite their abundance, Jindo dogs are less popular domestically, with many being adopted abroad instead. There was a past project called the Jindoge token, but after a brief price surge, its developer disappeared, leaving the project abandoned. Unfortunately, despite being Korea's Natural Monument and a source of national pride, there are very few cryptocurrency projects highlighting the Jindo dog, even in South Korea, where cryptocurrency is a major industry.
Jinju’s story is one that can resonate with people all over the world. Given the challenges she has overcome, creating a stable and long-lasting project centered around her is the first goal. 진주는 진도군에서 실제 구조한 천연기념물 진도개입니다. 천연기념물인데도 개장수에게 팔려가 복날을 기다리고 있다가 구조되었습니다. 오랜기간 개 도살 장소 바로 옆 철창에 갇혀 친구들의 죽음을 견뎌야 했습니다. 구조 당시 움직이지 못했고 지금도 영향인지 겁이 많아 작은 소리에 깜짝깜짝 놀라며 얼굴에 살짝의 틱 증상이 있습니다. 전국에 뉴스로 사진과 영상이 공유되었고 해당 이슈로 국회에서는 토론을 벌이기도 했습니다. 최근에도 진도개 대우때문에 자주 뉴스에 등장하는 유명견입니다.
진주는 임시보호를 거쳐 안락한 가정에 입양되었습니다. 당시 입양자는 진주를 위해 절에서 천배를 하고 스님께 공양하기도 했다고 합니다. 꿈에 스님이 나와 진주를 데려가라고 이야기했고 복잡한 과정이 있었지만 결국 별탈 없이 새로운 가족을 만났습니다. 이후 진주는 1년가까이 심장사상충을 치료했고 완치하여 행복한 나날을 보내고 있습니다.
도지코인으로 시바견은 인기가 많고 유기되어도 금방 다시 입양해가는데, 진돗개는 그렇지 않습니다. 진돗개는 수가 많은데 인기가 없고 그나마 해외에서 입양해 가는 분위기입니다. 그러다 진돗개 테마 토큰인 진도지 프로젝트가 있었고 개발자가 가격이 오르자 잠적하기도 했었습니다. 이처럼 안타깝게도 수많은 일본과 해외 견종은 있지만 코인 거래를 주도하는 대한민국에 천연기념물인 진돗개를 주제로 한 코인은 거의 전무합니다.
